LA @ BAR10!

Another successful road trip for the LA Crew and also Exhibiting this year for the first time The Bartending Rat Pack on fire as usual with few new faces too which is always good to see.

Highlights must include Tony C and Dave Arnold’s chats on the Molecular Mixology followed by the usual suspects Calebrese / Dorelli / Burrell /  Broom / Collins / Gemmell / Winchester all doing talks throughout the two days -

Managed to get Dave ‘Theres Been A Murder’ Broom hooked on 69 Negronis, could almost have dual meaning here in quantity and in place, the slated chorizo ball garnish could not be more fitting for this addictive classic. I Might just finish this Friday by drinking one in honor of this tidy little vortex of goodness!

The atmosphere at 69 Colebrook row and catching up with old friends made the journey that good bit sweeter to London this year for the show, a complete bonus all round to have a bar of this intimacy and style on the door step of Bar 10.  The business design center really is a great venue too and its creative edge some how rubs off on the show.  The food is also very good, which is always a rarity at exhibitions, at which you usually travel home malnourished, slightly hungover and as a result physically and mentally shattered.

The venue takes me back to my youth and first memories of hitting the big smoke and flying the cocktail flag with my cousin Andy Gemmell – an emerging bar super star for Scotland, on STV week to week on the hour show, bringing cocktails to the masses – yer aunty uncles and grannies – haaaaaa. In its remembrance I recall the excitement of this time being a young impressionable bartender and considering the wealth of chats on offer this year. I must say all in all a worth while road trip for the LA Group.

Comparisons at the next road trip for the Imbibe Bar Show supporting the Main Stage and Shake it Zones should be interesting.
